Super Bowl

Super Bowl

Another clever special effect. The idea was to create a backdrop for the main stage of the Super Bowl half-time show back in 1992. At the finale, the backdrop rose up on a hydraulic lift to 45 feet tall and 54 feet wide, revealing the face of the "North Wind" as the singer belted out a tune that got everybody on their feet. Unfortunately, the TV cameras didn't really catch the move, but I saw an awful lot of slack jaws as we hustled the beast off the field.
